Three Days After Christmas

Well, it is three days after Christmas, and so much as happened around the world. We have lost several great giants this week; one was the godfather of soul and the other a former president. President Gerald Ford was 93 years old; he was the oldest surviving president.

One interesting fact of President Gerald Ford is that he was not elected to the office of Vice President or President of the United States. Vice President Spiro Agnew resigned amid a bribery scandal, giving President Nixon the power to choose the next vice president. President Richard Nixon resigned, over the Watergate scandal, making Vice President Gerald Ford President.

The shock of the passing of James Brown, on Christmas morning reverberated throughout the day. He ushered in an era of soul and rock, which gave new artists many opportunities. He will always be remembered as the godfather of soul and the hardest workingman in show business.
